Cloud Tower Platformer Level

Alongside drawing thumbnail level designs for the Cloud Tower level I have developed an early block out for the level. This is to get the scale size right for the Player, Platform, tower door and the size of the tower itself.
This is the wireframe of the block out and I have designed a few objects to use to see how the player would get onto the platform objects
I have designed a staircase asset for the player to progress the charcter up in order to get onto the platform
I have resized the steps of the staircase to a slightly bigger size, I have done this to make them easier for the player to get up and to also make them look bigger in game view
I have designed the floor of the tower
While designing the block out of the cloud tower I decided to do an early prototype of the tower in Unity
While doing an early prototype of the level I did an early prototype test, during this prototype test I found that the character controller is not the right size as I need it to be so I will resize the character to the size needed
I have included in a first person character controller into the tower level
I have designed a few more platforms for the block out of the level
I have designed another staircase but a much smaller staircase to the other one
More platform design for block out
Further platform design for block out
Testing the block out development in Unity to make sure that everything is working and lined up correctly
This is the second early prototype test for the level. I have done this test for the block out to see if everything is working and lined up correctly, everythig in the block out of the tower is working fine and lined up correctly
After doing the second early prototype test I noticed that the objects and the tower itself are currently too small. I have re sized the tower
I have re sized some of the objects and the floor of the tower
I have finished re sizing the objects and the floor of the tower
I have positioned some of the objects in the centre of the tower ready to be exported out into Unity
I have centred the tower itself ready to exported out into Unity
I have centred more of the objects so that they are in line with the tower and ready to exported out into Unity separately
Before starting the level design I have done an early test. This is to test the jump distance between the floor and the platform and to also test the speed and jump height of the character, the character currently moves too fast and the jump height is too high so the character sometimes jumps past the platform instead of onto it
I have included in the platform and first person character controller into the tower.
I have designed a plane object to use as the floor of the tower
I have included in the staircase asset and positioned it at the bottom of the tower on the floor, this will be used for the player to get up to reach the first platform
While doing a test I noticed that the platform was too high and that the player would not be able to reach it
I have brought the platform down to where the staircase is to make it easier to jump onto
I have designed a wall for the tower and positioned it on the left side of the cloud tower
I have duplicated the wall and positioned it at the other side of the tower
I have duplicated the platform twice to have the three small platforms for the player to jump across to get to the other side
I have designed a medium sized platform and positioned it at the other side of the small platforms
I have included in a small staircase and placed it on the medium size platform for the player to go up
I have done this test to see if the jump distance works with the platforms and if the player controller is able to get up the staircase
I have duplicated one of the small platforms and positioned it near to the staircase for the player to jump onto
I have positioned the platform slightly closer to the staircase to make it easier to jump onto
I have designed a large sized platform and positioned it behind the small platform
I have done this test to see if the character is able to get onto the large platform by jumping onto it, I noticed while doing the test that the player will be able to just walk onto the platform
I have positioned the platform slightly higher up so that the player will have to jump onto it
I have done another test the player will be able to jump onto the platform now and not just walk onto it
I have duplicated the large sized platform and placed it at the other side of the medium sized platform for the player to progress further into the level.
I have duplicated the staircase and positioned it on the platform
I have duplicated one of the small platforms and positioned it slightly above the staircase for the player to jump onto

This is the start of the arrow dart asset development
This is slight further development of the arrow dart
I have designed the arrow dart head, which will be fired out as projectiles
I have designed the body of the arrow dart
I have included in the arrow dart asset and positioned it onto the platform and duplicated the asset to have the two arrow darts. The arrow dart will fire the arrow heads as projectiles towards the player which will hurt the player if they hit the character and the player will need to time gettig across the platform in time without being knocked off by the arrow projectile
The second asset I have designed is a pipe which will be used as secret area entrances
This is the finished pipe asset
I have included in the pipe asset into the level, the secret area will be designed where the pipe is located and the player willl need to go through the pipe to enter into the secret area
I have done a test to see if the pipe is big enough for the player to get through, the pipe is too small so the player is not able to get through and usually falls through the pipe
I have scaled the pipe object to a slighty bigger size
I have done another test to see if it is easier for the character to get through the pipe, the character still falls through the pipe before reaching the end
I have designed some more platforms for the player to jump across and onto
I have duplicated the platform and positioned it after the two small platforms for the player to jump onto from the small platform
I have done a test to see if the player would be able to jump across the platforms to the other side, the character is able to get across the platforms without any difficulty or problems
I have changed the speed of the character controller from 3 to 2, this is to see how changing the speed of the character affects the gameplay
I have done a test to see how the change in the speed effects the gameplay, the speed of the character moves at a slight slower pace and at the pace I would be using for the level
I have changed the speed of the character again to the speed of 1 to see how this would affect the movement of the character
I have done a test to see how the change in the speed has affected the movement of the character, the character moves too slow at the speed of 1
I have changed the speed of the character back to the speed of 2, this is the pace of the movement speed I am going to be using for the character controller
I have duplicated the flat platform and positioned it near to the wall to use it as a ledge platform
I have done this prototype test to see if the character controller is able to get onto the platform, the character is able to get onto the platform without any problems
I have positioned a staircase on the ledge platform and positioned a small platform near to the staircase
I have done this prototype test to see if the character is able to get onto the staircase and onto the platform, the character is able to get up the staircase and onto the platform
I have duplicated the small platforms for the player to jump across
I have designed an archway for the player to go through to reach the platform on the other side
I have done this prototype test to see if the character can get through the archway and onto the platform on the other side, the character is able to get through the archway and onto the platform without any problems. While doing the test I noticed that the archway is too small
I have scaled the archway to a slightly larger size to make it easier for the player to get through and out of to reach the platform on the other side
I have duplicated the staircase and placed it on the platform on the other side of the archway and duplicated a platform and positioned it near to the staircase for the player to jump onto
I have designed a ledge platform and positioned it on the wall of the tower for the player to walk across
I have done a test to see if the character is able to get up the staircase onto the platform and onto the ledge from the platform
I have duplicated one of the small platforms and positioned it near to the ledge platform for the player to jump onto from the ledge
I have designed this crate object to use for the puzzle rooms of the level
I have duplicated the small platform so that the player will have platforms to jump across
I have done a test to see if the character would be able to get across the platforms, the character is able to get across the platforms without any problems
I have duplicated the ledge platform and the arrow dart. I have positioned the arrow darts so that they are on the side of the ledge platform which will fire the arrow head as projecticles at the player
I have duplicated the staircase and positioned it on the platform
I have duplicated one of the small platforms and positioned it near to the staircase for the player to jump onto
I have done a test to see if the player can get onto the platform, which the player can but the platform can easily be walked onto
I have duplicated the ledge platform and changed it into a walkway for the player to walk along
I have scaled up the size of the tower so that I can design more for the level
I have duplicated the platform and positioned it at the other side of the walkway for the player to get onto
I have positioned the left wall of the tower further to the left so that I can include in a floor for the secret area
I have designed a floor for the secret area
I have done a test to see if the character is able to get through the pipe and onto the floor of the secret area, the character kept falling through the pipe before getting through completely
I have scaled up the pipe to a slightly bigger size to make it better for the player to get through
I have done another test to see if the character can get through the pipe, the character can get through the pipe better now that I have scaled the size of the pipe

I have included the spike trap in the level and positioned it onto the platform for the player to get the character around without touching it
I have duplicated the spike trap and positioned it next to the other spike trap on the platform
I have done this prototype test to see how they look in the game view and if the player would be able to get around them, the spike traps are slightly too big so they will need to be scaled down
I have done a prototype test to see if the character is able to get through the pipe, the character is not able to get through the pipe
I took the colliders off the pipe so that the character will stop falling through it as the player is trying to get through it

Recent Project

The last project I worked on was the Space Randy's Pizza Delivery group project which I was apart of a small group of six people with Lewis, Jachym, Dom, Dan and Connor. To contribute to the group I designed a space tunnel highway that connects the hub restaurant to the planets to take the player into the cities to deliver the pizzas in the given time limit.

Current project
The project I am currently developing is a 3D Platformer Winter Land level that I am designing for the final major project of the degree course. The Platformer is being developed in the Roblox Studio engine.

Space Randy's Pizza Delivery Group Project

For this assignment project I was tasked to work in a small group team to design a project. The team was myself, Dom, Dan, Connor, Jachym and Lewis. The project idea was to design a working prototype of a pizza delivery game. My contribution to this project was to design a space tunnel highway which connects the cities on the planets to the hub.

Winter Land Level

For the final assignment on the degree course I was tasked with designing an final major project of my own choice. I designed a Winter Land themed 3D Platformer level in the Roblox Studio Engine. In the time given for the project I needed to have a prototype with working game mechanics although some of the game mechanics did not script correctly.
