Winter Land 3D Platformer Level Project
I have been tasked with developing a final major project. For this project I have decided to design a 3D open world Winter Land themed Platformer level.

Project Inspiration

Concepts
This is the mind map that I designed once I decided on what my final major project idea was. The mind map gives me brief details on what is needed for the development for the Winter Land level. I will design the project to the best of my abilities.

These are some idea designs for the cave and igloo assets that I will be designing for the project.

Another asset I have drawn concept designs for is the ice ring which is going to be designed during the development of the Winter Land project.
Level Designs

This is the first level design for the final major project.

This is the second level design for the Winter Land project I have drawn and is slightly different from the previous level design I drew.
This is the third level design for the final major project Winter Land level.


This is the fourth level design for the Winter Land level which I am designing for the final major project.
Some of the Winter Land project Development

I have started the production for the Winter Land Platformer level project in the Roblox engine. I have painted the flat terrain with a snow texture and changed the colour of the tree to white so that it matches the Winter Land theme. With this being my first time using this engine I will be learning the software while developing the project.

I have designed a small walkway platform by using the wedge part for the player to cross to reach the platform.
I have designed a set of three platforms to design a moving platform.

I have slightly scaled down the platforms in size, so that it is not too large in space on the surface that the player will walk around.

I have designed a snow path and an bridge for the player to maneuverer across without falling through the gaps.

I have designed a stairway for the player to get the character across and onto the platform. This platform is the end of the bottom section of the level and is where the balloon to the next area will be located.


I have designed a staircase that will take the player down to an ice ring and is another pathway that can be taken in the level.
I have started to design the walkway from the staircase that will lead the player to the ice ring.


This is the block-out base of the ice ring. The design will be altered further in the development of the project.
I have scaled down the size of the ice ring block out and changed it to being the left side of the ring. I have duplicated it to use as the base of the ice ring.


I have finished the design of the block-out for the ice ring.

I have changed the texture of the terrain path design at the bottom to ice. I also designed a few more trees by duplicating one that was designed earlier in production.
I have deleted the slope that was designed at a previous development stage. I replaced the slope with a moving platform.

I have removed the archway and replaced it with two small blocks to be used as supports of the tunnel.


I have designed the tunnel by duplicating the two supports for the roof and scaled all the objects to the size needed.
I have removed the bridge and replaced it with a wall obstacle.


I have finished the wall obstacle that the player will be required to jump over to reach the platform on the other side.
I have designed the base of the cage mechanic.


I have changed the start and finish points of the moving platform to invisible and to make it so that the platform itself is only see-able.

I removed the second moving platform because it was not working properly and replaced it with a platform for the player to jump onto. I have also added a walkway ramp and another platform block to jump across to from the other platform.
I removed the slope and duplicated the staircase and positioned it where the slope was.


I removed the two moving platforms that where positioned between the second platform of the level and the snowfield platform. I replaced them with two blue block platforms for the player to jump onto to reach the platform.

I have changed the transparency of the cage to make it invisible.

I have designed a sphere to represent the captive fox and turned off the collisions.

I have designed a small sphere to use as the collectible items for the level.

I have duplicated the cage and fox and positioned them on the ice ring platform.

I have changed the colour of some of the platforms.

I have duplicated one of the platforms to use as the second section of the level.
This is the start of the development of the staircase.


I have duplicated the staircase step to develop the rest of the stairs.
This is the finished development of the staircase.


I have positioned the staircase onto the platform.
I have designed a portal which will be used as the end level point.


I have positioned a few more collectibles around the level environment.
I have duplicated the cage and captive fox and positioned them near to the portal.


Although I have not managed to have a working script for the collectibles I have designed more collectibles.
I have finished positioning the collectibles.
